From Humble Beginnings...
Schalk & Joey established Jumbo Importers Ltd in the UK, in 2003. They identified a growing demand for South African food in the UK for the increasing number of South African ex-pats who moved to the UK. Their goal was to supply South African food to the English market.
Their excellent levels of service and hands-on management ethos helped Jumbo Importers Ltd grow at a significant pace. They solidified Jumbo Importers Ltd in 2005 as the favourite South African wholesaler in the UK, and stocked the biggest range of South African products. This approach continues to be the case today.
In November 2007 Jumbo Importers Ltd moved to bigger premises to maintain its customer vision and to ensure adequate stock levels to meet growing demand.. Jumbo Importers Ltd continues to operate from the same warehouse in Slough and is stable company with an excellent track record.

In 2018 Schalk and Joey decided to sell the business and enjoy their retirement. New owners, Robbie and Corné, worked very closely with Schalk and Joey, sharing the same vision and values that form the foundation of the company.
Both Corné and Robbie are passionate about continuing the Jumbo legacy that was established; ensuring it grows from strength to strength.
Jumbo Importers Ltd is still known for operating an 'open door' policy and will always walk the extra mile for you, our customers.
